About the work

Remote CNC programming, CMM programming and manufacturing engineering contracts

Machining Partner connects experienced CNC programmers, CMM programmers, CAD/CAM engineers and manufacturing specialists with remote contract work from manufacturers in aerospace, medical device, semiconductor and defense. If you program in Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX or GibbsCAM, write inspection routines in PC-DMIS, Calypso or Modus, or turn scan data into manufacturable CAD, we have projects that fit.

Most of our contractors are skilled machinists, programmers and engineers who want flexible, remote freelance work on top of a day job, between roles, or as their own business. You work as an independent contractor, pick the projects that suit you, and never have to bid against anyone.

Is there a catch?

No fee to apply, no obligation to accept a project, and no exclusivity. What we ask in return is good work and clear communication on the projects you choose to take.

Is it really free to apply?

Yes. Applying and joining the network are free, and you never pay us to get work. We agree your rate with you before any project starts.

Do I have to accept every project?

No. You're never obligated to take a project. We'll reach out when something matches your skills, and you decide whether it fits your schedule and interests. Turning one down doesn't count against you.

Can I do this alongside my day job?

Yes. Many contractors do. Projects are remote and you set your own hours, so you tell us how much time you have and we match projects to it.

Do I set my own rate?

You tell us the hourly rate you're looking for on the application, and we agree your rate with you before any project starts.

Am I an employee?

No. You work as an independent contractor, so you manage your own taxes and equipment. The details are in our contractor agreement, which you'll see before you start.

Do I need to be in the United States?

Our network spans several countries. Some aerospace and defense projects require U.S. Person status under export-control rules; we'll ask about that on the intro call.

Are there unpaid tests?

Never. The trial is a small paid project at your agreed rate.

How soon will I hear back?
