๐ Understanding the Results
Verdict
| Verdict |
What It Means |
| BUY โ
|
The lot offers good ROI at your max investment. Real market value supports profitable resale. |
| PASS โ |
The lot doesn't meet ROI thresholds. MSRP is too inflated or market value is too low. |
Key Metrics Explained
MSRP Total: What the liquidation company claims the lot is worth (almost always fantasy)
Real Market Value: What you can ACTUALLY sell these items for based on eBay sold listings
MSRP Inflation: How much the MSRP is inflated compared to real market (e.g., 3.2x means MSRP is 3.2 times higher than reality)
Expected ROI: Your projected return on investment at your max investment amount
Expected Profit: How much profit you'll make after accounting for purchase price
Max Bid: The maximum you should bid to maintain 200% ROI
Per-Item Analysis Table
The table shows the top items analyzed:
- Product: Item name (truncated)
- Qty: Quantity in the lot
- MSRP: Manufacturer's suggested retail price (per unit)
- Real Price: Median price from eBay sold listings (per unit)
- Inflation: MSRP รท Real Price (color-coded: ๐ข low, ๐ก medium, ๐ด high)
- Comps: Number of comparable sales found (confidence level)
๐ฅ Is the Data Really Real?
YES. 100% Real.
This tool actually scrapes:
- โ
eBay Sold Listings - Real transaction prices (green prices)
- โ
Facebook Marketplace - Active listings in your area
- โ
Mercari - Sold item prices
- โ
Poshmark - Sold item prices
How to verify:
- Go to eBay.com
- Search for any product from your manifest
- Click "Advanced" โ Check "Sold listings"
- Compare the green prices to what the analyzer shows
โ ๏ธ Important Things to Know
Why Does It Take 2-3 Minutes?
The tool scrapes 15 different products from eBay, waiting 1.5 seconds between each request to avoid getting blocked. This is intentional rate limiting.
Accuracy Factors:
- High Confidence: 10+ comps found - very reliable
- Medium Confidence: 5-9 comps - fairly reliable
- Low Confidence: <5 comps - use caution
๐ก Tips for Best Results
CSV Requirements
Your CSV needs these columns (names can vary):
- Product Name: "Item Description", "Product", "Description", or "Name"
- Quantity: "Qty", "Quantity", or "Count"
- Price: "Unit Retail", "MSRP", "Price", or "Cost"
Can't parse your CSV? Use the debug tool: debug.html
Bidding Strategy
- โ
Max Bid: Use the recommended max bid for 200% ROI
- โ
Conservative Approach: Bid 20-30% below max bid for buffer
- โ
Factor in Fees: eBay/PayPal fees (13%), shipping costs
- โ
Factor in Time: Your time to list, pack, ship items
- โ Don't Trust MSRP: It's almost always inflated 2-5x
Red Flags to Watch For
- โ ๏ธ High Inflation: 5x+ inflation means MSRP is bullshit
- โ ๏ธ Low Comps: <5 comps = unreliable pricing
- โ ๏ธ Niche Products: Pond equipment in landlocked areas
- โ ๏ธ Seasonal Items: Christmas lights in July
- โ ๏ธ Brand Matters: Off-brand worth 50-70% less than name brand
๐ ๏ธ Troubleshooting
"Could not parse manifest"
Solution: Your CSV format is not recognized. Use debug.html to see what columns were found.
"No comps found for most items"
Solution: Items might be too niche or obscure. The tool defaults to 30% of MSRP for items with no comps (conservative estimate).
"Results seem too optimistic"
Solution: Remember to factor in:
- Selling fees (eBay, PayPal, Mercari, etc.)
- Shipping costs
- Your time to list/pack/ship
- Potential returns/refunds
- Condition issues (manifests may include damaged items)

- Median: $10.50
- MSRP was $21.58 per shirt
- Inflation: 2.1x
Step 4: Results show
- Real Market Value: $11,300 - $17,750
- ROI at $4,281: 164% - 315%
- Verdict: BUY โ
- Max Bid: $5,916 (for 200% ROI)
Step 5: You bid $4,500 (conservative)
- Win the lot
- Sell shirts on eBay/Mercari for $8-12 each
